Default Can you stop a fight if.....

Hi guys just a question about stoppages. In a recent fight I got caught in a triangle choke and took lots of punches to the head whilst caught in the choke. I couldn't defend myself from the punches, per se, because I was focused on escaping the choke. The ref, thankfully, didn't stop it. But my question to everyone is; could you stop a fight if someone was taking constant shots from the BOTTOM, would you do this and has anyone ever seen it done? Thanks for any help guys

It's a fairly open question and would depend upon the individual situation but yes I would if the situation required.

If the strikes were causing damage and the fighter was unable to defend himself then your duty as a ref is to stop it.

Didn't that happen to Pickett once in Cage Rage? Or it could have been due to a cut. Defo from strikes while being in a triangle though.

If the Referee perceived that in this or any similar situation a fighter stopped trying to defend or escape, then yes the fight can be stopped if a fighter is taking undefended strikes.

    Haha, fucking lol!!!

Nobody is disrespecting Lutter, but to call him the Michael Jordan of BJJ shows a lack of knowledge of either basketball or jiu-jitsu... the latter in Goldberg's case.
