i'm somewhere being dragonwhipsitstail and hysteresis at the moment and all i can advise is just to keep training and set small achieveable goals.
i've not trained properly since 2005 and my training has been incredibly inconsistent for various reasons but adding consistancy, learning/drilling the basics and learning on the mat are all we can do to get better
all the best
Strategy can subsitute for talent, but talent will never subsitute for strategy.

After training for a couple of months, me and a friend shared the cost of private lessons with our coach. I have to say that it was the best money I've ever spent. I learnt so much in the 6 lessons, then everything started clicking in to place in the class and I had improved so much and the other students who would easily smash me in sparring, had to work a little bit harder.
It's not until someone new starts that you start noticing improvements and you can actually put the submissions on. It is disheartening, but when you enjoy something so much, you can get through it.
Being at Carlson's means I get at least 3 times a week near me or as much as I want at any of the affiliates. Having just had a lesson today, I can see minor improvements already and havinga good group to roll with makes all the difference. I know this is the long haul right now.
Much respect to Shane from infinity who rolls with us on Fridays and today. I feel a lot better about things and just hope I can evolve into a good BJJ player.
OOOSSSSS! Anytime fella! As Guv mentioned earlier in the thread......must SMASH!
Embrace the grind my fren!!!!
