Message from Emmanuel Fernandez

Danny Batten's camp suggested a fight against Emmanuel's brother Fred. On hearing this Emmanuel called me and had this message. Before I get accused of shit stirring, this is straight from him and he asked me to put it on the net.

"Danny Batten doesn't have the balls to give me a rematch when I'm fit. It's all well and good beating me when I arrive the night before the fight and get to sleep at 3am and I haven't been able to train properly. If he'll give me a rematch I'll beat the crap out of him and take my belt back any time he wants."

For a little background to explain this statement ...

For CW:SF 1 France V UK the whole team, except Emmanuel and his coach, arrive on Thursday night. The flight was delayed 3 hours and we arrived very late at night. Emmanuel was working nights and 1 was unable to train properly 2 was unable to get the Thursday night off work.

Emmanuel and his coach therefore arrived Friday night, once again the flight was delayed about 3 hours so he arrived in Coventry, to weigh in, around 1am Saturday. By the time he weighed in, ate (he hadn't eaten all day cause he was travelling and needed to make weight) and got to the hotel where the French team were staying it was 3am.

He felt that he was prepared well enough for the fight, but the problem was that there was a 3 hour+ delay on his flight getting in, so he didn't get to bed until 3am the day of the fight. If anyone doubts this, Kainer and Dougie waited up at their hotel so that Emmanuel could weigh in.
