Ultimate Impact Kickboxing/K1 has arrived!

On the 26th May 2012 at Liquid Nightclub in Gloucester Ultimate Impact will be showcasing the very best Kickboxing and K1 fighters from the UK.

Historically, kickboxing can be considered a hybrid martial art formed from the combination of elements of various traditional styles. This approach became increasingly popular since the 1970s, and since the 1990s, kickboxing has contributed to the emergence of mixed martial arts via further hybridization with ground fighting techniques from jujutsu and collegiate wrestling.

K-1 combines stand up techniques from Muay Thai, Karate, Taekwondo, Savate, San Shou, kickboxing, western-style boxing, and other martial arts. Its rules are similar to those of kickboxing but they have been simplified to promote exciting matches that may end in a knockout win. The main difference between K-1 rules and kickboxing is the use of knees, allowed in K-1 but not in International kickboxing.

Doors open at 5pm and the first bout will commence at 6pm. Tickets are 20, available online, and from participating fighters and clubs.
