It is different and here's why....

You read any interview with a fighter who is going into a fight and you will see the same comments. That fighter will be in a set mind frame for that fight. A mind frame that helps them get into the cage. No fighter will enter the cage thinking he is going to lose. He has to have complete and utter belief in his abilities and his ability to win. He has to rationalise why he thinks he can win. He also has to give an interesting interview. In this case Doolan mentions that he has the experience and that your guy was 1-1 against accomplished fighters. None of these points were untrue. There was a reason Haggstrom was the underdog.

You, on the other hand are a fan of Haggstrom. To come onto a Scottish forum where that the opponent posts regularly and rub salt into the wounds of a defeat is a bit much. Why not go onto a Swedish forum and congratulate your guy's performance rather than coming on to this specific forum?

There is no getting away from the fact that the calibre of Swedish fighters is very high. But the Scottish guys fighting them do actually know that. Doolan does not come across as a guy who takes the easy fight. In fact he has stated as much in other threads. For him to take the match with Haggstrom actually highlights how highly Doolan obviously thought of him I suppose.

None of my business anyway, but there it is.
I would ban the triangle choke, the refuge of cowards everywhere.

'twas an excellent fight with two fantastic fighters at top European level.
David was superb on the night and impressed everyone as did James.
One person said to me after the fight, it was probably the most technical fight he'd ever seen in person - that is a credit to both fighters, no need for any post fight smack talk - that shit just detracts from a great fight.
    Well done to both...

So his bashing of Martin Svensson in the article is of relevance why??? Because he was à couple of days away from a fight with another in à totally different weightclass? Doolan should shut his trap until he actually wins some fights.
