Let's not call a cheat a cheat out of fear of being called "Racist". If any white person was in his -1 year bracket, he can't voice an opinion because he doesn't want to be called racist? That BJJ beginner who may have spent his last £25-£40 (depending on travel etc) will appreciate you have pulled that race card to scare off people who have wronged not only him but the sport.

Can't say I thought about race in my post, now that Mr. Political Correctness Gone Mad has pointed this out I am now wondering... Is Gilani Indian? Italian? Pakistani? Turkish? Half White/Half Pakistani? I honestly have no clue whether he's Muslim/Jew/Hindu/whatever.... I still think it's pretty hard to deny Some people in his under 1 year bracket who lost not only there money/right to a possible first tourniment win will be happy we "all move on because we love BJJ"

Read above. A cheat's a cheat. I was gonna quote Rab Truesdale/ Danny Gray and everyone else who disagreed with these cheating actions but there where too many. Martial Arts isn't about that shit. Never was in the beginning and shouldn't change now because we're apparantly all to be forgiving and soft as fuck.
Exactly, there were 'too many', that means we got the message, we understand he cheated, we've had everyone and his uncle on telling us, we aren't stupid, now it's just flogging a dead horse. It's not a case of being 'soft and forgiving', it's about labouring a point endlessly while not actually doing anything about people cheating.
We get it, he cheated, everyone knows about it, he's sorry now move on and find a solution to the cheating problem.I imagine the race card was pulled out because only one person has been singled out for cheating. I don't think it's a racial thing more of a small vendetta on the OP's part as there's been previous arguments between him and mr Gilani on here.

Move the discussion on and see what can be done to prevent cheating so that the guys who do spend their last pounds on competiting do have fair fights, endlessly having a go at mr Gilani who probably isn't reading anymore isn't doing anything. His cheating is a huge negative so why not make a positive instead by finding ways to stop others cheating?

Not true! Trust me, I've seen some very bad fighters, even fighters who got to the cage door, turned round and left!

Its hardly as bad as me entering the other division I have 10years of jiu jitsu on some of the fellas i competed against.

I did have an ulterior motive. Competing was the only way to get out of Rob making me referee all day.

So in reality you competing was doing the other competitors a favour since you haven't got a scoobie about the rules lol

Was reading up on that there... Apparantly they're fair game from blue/purple belt onwards in alot of compititions depending on rules being followed at that particular compitition. I think they should be allowed. Eddie Bravo would allow them at a no-gi comp like that Vision comp Paul competed in so....

I competed in the beginners category for the no gi comp in October and then in December where I was knocked out in the first round of each competition. After that I competed in the beginners category last week where I did better. I lost my very first match to a guy from the lycans gym but as he got injured I was given another shot where I was awarded the gold by Gary Christie which I reluctantly accepted (you can ask him to verify this). Then I competed in a shallow absolute division where I won but with great struggle. If I had something to hide why would I commend every opponent I faced by informing them that I trained longer than them.

Rob and Co are doing an amazing job in running these competitions but the categories were too vague for my personal liking because if I am being put out in the first round of beginners categories in previous comps then what gives me the right to enter the advanced category in the next comp. I am a white belt with garbage fundamentals and am a crap grappler which the juice and others have highlighted in the past. So how do i become a sand bagger after winning these medals? I have been knocked out the first rounds of white belt divisions in gi competitions as well, should I have still entered the advanced category last week. By being an academic I class progress over labels where If i entered the advanced category there would ne no real progress as i have not finished business at the beginners category, it's like doing a one year Masters degree without an honours which is poor logic.

I am more than happy to return the medals because I have achieved something which is more important and that is to know that I have earned the right to compete in either an intermediate or advanced category. I regularly train at the Fighter's Hive where I am probably one of the most hardest working students there. I have gained a lot from training there and I have also added some more to my game by training at GB Glasgow where time at both places led me to attain the recent results. Rob, Meat and Gary I will return the medals the next time I see you. The people who were attacking me please know the whole story before you make a judgement. I am really thankful for people being impartial or siding with me but am also dissapointed with people attacking me without knowing the whole story because I have really worked hard to improve my game.

To Danny Gray, for your information although I maybe a mongo but I have followed the sport for over ten years where an ill prepared version of me with no bjj game was going to compete in an mma fight in September 2003 in Maryhill Glasgow under a Duncan James show but due to last minute changes I fought a thai fight. I also watched my friend Craig fight Willie Scott a few months later and my friend John fight ref John.

To everyone I will return my medals to the comp management, now please move on...........
Thank you for retracting what you said, I hope EVERYONE can draw a line and move on now it's getting old. Maj is a hard working guy who puts in a lot of time and effort while at the same time holding two jobs and looking after his young family and I know he is in the wrong for what he did but tbh if the sport had more guys with his work ethic, then instead of having loads of Facebook fighters& the tap out/sports direct types we would see an improvement in the game of everyone. I hope this stops as it is unfair to continually dig one guy out , without anyone else who has been sandbagging getting exposed (we all know that ain't going to happen ) anyway peace to all I'm done

There were sandbaggers everywhere at that tourney. Not just Mr G-man who beat my boy in the final.

And to be fair G-man admitted to his opponent (Ross Morgan - southside) that he shouldnt have been in the beginners as he had loads of time off and wasnt feeling confident.... Which I think is quite noble and did make Ross feel really good about his silver.

    Rules are rules however.

Each to their own - everyone knows the cheats and how long people have been training.
