Default fighters training regime in scotland and getting affilated with a club

i know there is another forum for this but i just want to hear from the guys that train in scotland
post a breakdown of your daily regime leading up to a fight from start to finish
    from classes,sparring,weights,conditioning to road work.
i love the training aspect of mma because there are so many arts to be mastered and want to know how to balance it, i really want to fight and compete mma, i have over 10 years boxing expierence and about 6 months jui jits, no wrestling and about 15 thai classes
i have two young babies and work full time so can manage 3 or 4 classes a week at a push
i used to think boxing was harder than any combat sport but after training a bit of jui jits and some light thai sparring my opinion has changed, should i wait a year or two just building my knowledge and skills or just go for it. im not affilated with any gyms, the training in thai i do is at the griphouse and the jui jits i do is royce gracie glasgow
im kinda in the dark as to how it works cause if you go to a boxing gym, the trainer will say straight away "you wanna fight" and you say yes or no and it goes from there, however an mma gym like the griphouse is mad busy and i have no idea if they would take me on or if other gyms would as they have there rep to think of i guess, where as in a boxing gym they pretty much will chuck you in a ring regardless of skill level, as long as you turn up and train hard.
thanks guys for some feedback please

Go to the MMA sparring classes at the Grip, if your not doing them there's no chance of you being asked to fight

Meat, can anyone attend the MMA sparring classes? Or would you have had to have attended a certain number of BJJ, striking etc classes first?

You have Tuesday nights at 7pm after wrestling and Friday night at 7pm
Stef there are suggested requirements for the class that you have either a background which gives you a degree of experience (thai, boxing etc) or have been training at the Grip for a while at which point you have developed the basic skills you need

If your training in separate arts at the grip express an interest to the coaches that you wish to compete mma.

They will suggest you try the MMA sparring classes Tuesday/Friday nights.

Sparring classes at the grip are run on an open door policy though so if your not training at the grip you cans till drop in on the sparring sessions, you wont receive any coaching at the sparring session but will get to spar with different guys

Having recently started sparring more in the gym, I would recommend starting with the Tuesday class & seeing how you get on. Paul will usually begin the class with a warm up, then go over some stand up MMA related drills or take down work. It usually then ends with 5 x 5 minute rounds of MMA sparring. It's a great class and pushes you very hard.

p.s. - Fucking heavy dain UFC cage fighting n awww that YASSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Nice. I just wondered how that worked. I'd love to give it a bash, but fear I'd get beaten to within an inch of my life.

i actually wrote a wee mini training/diet diary for my last fight camp which was for a 5 round mma fight (25mins) ill post it up later.

The best advice i can give to anybody in or around Glasgow is to go to the Griphouse, Lanark or Dumbarton gyms and have a word with either Paul McVeigh, James Doolan or John Nicholson about fighting etc

by the way what boxing club did u go to? i boxed at the Dennistoun and Phoenix for about 10 years. if you need any more advice pm me bud
