There is some fucking shit on this thread guys.

Here me out here, If Micheal Bisping - (a few years back) Let's say he is 6 or 7 and 0 at this point and he started fighting guys who were say 3-11-0 & 2-10-0 and Bisping then raised his record to 8- 0 or 9-0, would you respect that or would that be a pile of wank?

I think its a pile of wank. I think when you are top of your game- or near top of the game, you need to mix it up with level rated opponents. I dont see Jimi Manua fighting guys that are 4-12.

But if Bisping was offered a title shot with UCMMA and after some jiggling about, he ended up being offered a 2-20 fighter, would you expect him to turn it down after being in a training camp for a title fight? Thats all I am saying, its the org who picks the fights, fighters shouldnt be expected to turn down a fight that will earn them money regardless. In an ideal world maybe, but its not an ideal world, plus it shouldnt ever be put in the fighters hands, otherwise, why have promoters?

Yes I would expect him to turn it down, his management would say NO GET HIM A BETTER OPPONENT OR WE DONT FIGHT'

This made me chuckle Evzy ( if its got fins and flaps around like a twat on the pavement, its a fish, thats how I call things - ) but in fairness you could have been talking about Bob Sapp.

Even if it means him losing out on a purse and having to pay his training camp out of his own money etc?

I agree with what you are saying and yes 100% he should have had a better opponent, I just think reality and the ideal are different. Do you not think the promoters have any responsibility in matchmaking then? In my mind, the people who run the show are the ones who pick the fights, not the fighters and their management. Plus, look at the flipside, if you get offered a fight you think you can easily win, why not just pick up the cheque? You get the title, harder fights no doubt will come on the back of that anyway, this way you pay your bills, raise your profile as a title holder, pretty much guarantee yourself harder fights being the title holder in future, job done.

    Evzy,

If you think that somebody who has a long history of paying fighters even when his company has struggled, pushing fighters careers forward even if it means them signing for another promotion and pioneering our sport in the UK deserves the same kind of stick that somebody who has been around for a few years and has already obtained an international reputation for failing to pay fighters and suppliers and cancelling shows with no regard for fans that have paid for tickets , travel and accommedation? just because they make some stupid videos every now and then or throw a rugby ball in the cage for 10mins? then by all means you start threads and post about it, i dont agree with you.

So I adjust my flames accordingly.

Like I stated to you a number of times when you decided to derail a thread with this agenda , looking into all the shit bags in our sport makes you appretiate those that genuinely trying to whats right.

Everybody screws up from time to time, this is not about critizing everybody who doesnt want to be like the UFC.

Im more concerned with people trying to cheat the fans and the fighters and the sport.

I agree DoD has done plenty for the sport, but on this occasion you were going after the fighter when it was really the promoter you should have been going after, if because you think he does a great job normally you let him off the hook and changed the focus to the fighter instead, thats not what you keep telling us you campaign for, granted not everyone deserves equal treatment in regards to being Bean'd but....I think you were barking up the wrong tree on this one completely.

Besides I wont be starting threads about this, you were the one who brought it up then ignored the obvious fact of who should have been questioned. It just does nothing to dissuade my thoughts that you do have some vested interest in UCMMA at times. No biggie but if you do, you should be open about it.
