I would turn up and say I have never done BJJ in my life, Then try and kill everyone in sparing.

When they say I thought you have never done this before. Say you have not, but you used to do Judo when you were at school.

So after some investigation turns out this just might be my friend's CKD place http://www.eackd.com/ in Redhill. I see no reference to BJJ on the site though. My friend tells me their instructor teaches bjj basics to their students and beginners, wearing a white belt. Be good if an unknown could attempt to attend a class to verify..

Looking at this they aren't a traditional school, they are a business. You'd be better finding either a proper traditional or BJJ place. It's quite annoying when you do a traditional style ie full on sparring, proper self defence, low fees etc then have these companies come along with their 'one size fits all and thanks for the money' style. They have a bigger advertising budget than most genuine clubs, as well as slicker sales pitch so parents especially think they are better than the old style places plus of course our belts take longer to get and are bought with blood sweat and tears rather than money. Sorry... rant over, they just really annoy me!
