Soccer kicks should have no place in MMA - This is meant to be a highly skilled, warrior sport. Any moron can execute a soccer kick!!

Ye that was a proper brutal kick, shouldn't be allowed imo.

He was never gona defend against that. It was just street fight style.

I don't find it brutal at all... head kick KOs look way worse... Gonzaga/Crocop, Evans/Salmon or Barboza/Etim for instance.

Saying that it takes no skill or that anyone can do it is silly... it takes skill to get into a position to execute the technique. You could just as easily say that anyone could punch and elbow someone from mount.

Soccer kicks are uneccessary. The UFC doesnt have them and it's none the worse for it. Every organisation should use the same rules, it just makes the sport more accessible that way. It's dangerous enough without booting punters in the head while they are on the deck.

I agree, and especially when grounded, already dazed and when the opponent doesn't see it coming so they have no way to defend against it.

he was stuffed before the kick was thrown, he could of finished him loads of ways!

I'd be in favour of kicks/knees to the head of a downed opponent, but only if the opponent is facing up. Face down/all fours = no no.

That's purely an 'if I was in charge' think though. In real life, I'd rather they were left out, purely because of how nasty they look to the layman.

Change that title to "Most Brutal" in your head before you answer

    Real question.

I think it's how measured the whole thing is.
It felt a bit American History X somehow.
Pulver vs. Arai was pretty bad but this Moreira's one is beyond brutal.
This one always stands out for me. Rene Rooze vs Andre van den Oetelaar from Cage Fight Tournament 95 - The first NHB VHS I ever owned back in t'day. About 2:20 for the finish.
