Because 2 is better than 1! And we all know you can definitely get 2 taps in a 4 min round!

Revolutionary that's why, everyone will be doing it soon. Heard it's going to be brought into boxing as well, 2 knockouts to guarantee the win.

The two taps rule was to encourage people to actively seek submissions rather than just get a dominant position and hold it. I agree its going to be hard within 4mins but it also means that most fights will go the full 4mins and we hope that will result in people getting better value for money and more mat time.

It's something we want to try and see how it goes. We have trialed it in training and its been working well but obviously we understand its a little different when in competition. Whether or not you agree with the rule it should still be a good day and we have had a fair bit of interest in the competition so hopefully it will go well and it provides some good experience to those that compete.

I understand why you're doing it but think that a single submission only format would work better than two submissions. No submission and both get dq'd is used by a few people now and seems to work better if you don't want to go down the points route.

Just a quick note to say how good this tournament was. Well organised and smoothly run - the format worked really well.

Wasn't sure about the 2 submission rule before the day, but it really motivates you to be active, and when you're tapped twice you KNOW you're beaten

I hope there's another one soon, I'll defo go again.

    Good work guys.

Glad you enjoyed it. We've been getting some really good feedback and will hopefully be having at least 2 events a year now that we have got the first one out of the way.
