Even at a catchweight, come fight time Anderson will be far too heavy for GSP.

Weight wasn't an issue in the early days of MMA, but with the high level of the fighters a significant weight difference which Anderson would have over GSP will make all the difference. The extra size & strength will help to keep the fight standing & as good as GSP's jab might be Anderson will destroy him standing.

If he's not prepared to step back up in weight & truly test himself, unlike his previous two fights against guys who were tailor made for him to look good against then Anderson should focus on defending his Middleweight strap, NOT calling out Welters like GSP & Nick Diaz.

I agree mate. As far as I'm concerend there are weight classes for a good reason and though especially the gsp - silva fight is very interesting the heavier guy generally has the avantage. Neither guy should be pressurised to move up and face someone with a large physical advantage. Certainly wouldn't want to see diaz - silva. As much as I like to see nick fight it would end quick

those are figures that have been stated, but i think in the case of Anderson at least they have been wildly over-exaggerated... fair do's that picture is Jones before hydrating, but here is one mid-fight

compare that to Anderson in the previous picture... that's not an insignificant difference

There is no way Anderson is weighing less than 210 come fight time, Jones is no more than 230, so it's still 20lbs difference.
GSP walks in at 190, that's been confirmed by him and his trainers so it's still the same weight difference.

YET Anderson WON'T fight Jones but will fight the smaller guy in GSP!

Anderson doesn't weigh 210lbs come fight time.

No chance he has 8lbs on the likes of Henderson and Evans.

It is true he does turn up fat for camp. Some cases as much as 220lbs.

That's what I'm saying, it's at the very least for the sake of argument 210 but realistically it's 220/30

But when Silva is 220lbs he is doing a 'Ricky Hatton'.

Randy during his run at LHW was 215lbs. No way Silva fights at 210lbs.

In shape and come fight time Silva is 195lbs at the most.

Randy was 215lbs when he had his run at LHW - He was only 220lbs when Lesnar beat him.

Ken Shamrock was roided to the max and only came in a 212lbs when he fought Don Frye.

Like I've already said, both Evans and Hendo come in at around 202 when they fight at LHW.

So, no chance Anderson fights at 210lbs.

He might walked around at 220lbs after a number of his wife's BBQs, but he is not in fight shape at that shape.
