but thats only part of the scoring, what about significant strikes? Cage control, aggression etc...? surely you just cant put a stat up like that and use it for justification.

Fighter A lands 28 strikes in round 1 but they are all low kicks or jabs. whilst fighter B lands 20 strikes which rock his opponent several times, cut him open and nearly wins the fight. (not using any fight as an example), you cant score the fight to the guy who landed more shots

I was thinking the same, if fighter A lands 20 soft shots that do nothing, but fighter B lands 10 that all do damage and drops his opponent, then who wins the round on that basis?
