Looking to start up!

Hi all

I want to know has anyone had experience with wing chun or kung fu?
Also can they be used in mma effectivly?

I havent really done any full contact sports like boxing or martial arts but im looking to get into it.

Ive found a gym fairly near me in st albans but still havent joined any yet.
Im also looking to join either wing chun club or kung fu.

Does someones reach really count ?

Reach: Yes, but it's not the be all and end all.

Wing Chun: No. Just, just no. Take the time and money you'd spend at Wing Chun and put it into Boxing, Thai/ Kick Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and/ or Freestyle Wrestling. Kung Fu is great if you're fighting a 2000 year old Chinese dude, not so much if you're up against someone with modern technique.
