With just over one week to go, Manchester’s Premier Mixed Martial Arts Promotion Ultimate Cage Championships (UCC) will return with their thirteenth installment UCC 13 – Licence to Thrill at their home of the HMV Ritz in Manchester on the 2nd December 2012.

The British film industry had a very impressive year in 2012, with the new James Bond film becoming the highest-grossing James Bond film ever. The reasons for this sensational achievement was not only because the 007 actor, Daniel Craig, appeared in the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics as Queen Elizabeth II’s escort, but also because it’s the 50th year anniversary of the Bond Movies. UCC have decided to monopolise on this accomplishment by basing their thirteenth show on a James Bond style theme called License to Thrill. An ideal candidate to become the poster boy and take on the starring role as the UCC 007 is the former undefeated bantamweight and now current flyweight champion Pietro Menga.

Menga will defend his flyweight title in the UCC 13 main event against Steve ‘Taz’ Mccombe.

Mccombe is a very experienced fighter with over thirty fights in his career and a fifty percent winning record.

This will be Menga’s second title defense after defeating, at the time, the undefeated German future prospect Rany Saadeh in the main event of UCC 12 back in September.

Menga who is now 7-0-0 and fights out the The MMA Academy in Liverpool under former UFC fighter Jason Tan is considered by many to be one of the best flyweight talents in the UK and Europe.
