Spartan Grapple challenge (No Gi) returns Saturday February 2nd 2013.

After another successful year, Spartan Grapple Challenge has maintained its position as the South West's biggest grappling event with well over a hundred entrants last time.

To cope with demand for the event, we will have four mats running.

Venue: Scotch Horn Leisure Centre, Brockway, Nailsea, North Somerset, BS48 1BZ.

Weigh in: 9.30am

£15 entry. Each competitor will get a minimum two bouts and the absolute division.

Weight divisions: Under 68, 73, 78, 84, 93, -100, +100kg and absolute.

The experience divisions will be under and over 1 year.

There will be medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each catagory.

We aim to give competitors the opportunity to get as much experience as possible in a friendly competitive atmosphere. Ways to win at Spartan Grapple Challenge are by submission or ref's decision based on who was the most attacking competitor looking to finish the bout. Bouts are 5 minutes followed by 2 minutes overtime if there is a draw.

Is there a female division? We have a 2 or 3 girls at our place who may want to enter.

Were are trying to get a female open division up and running.

We have had a good amount of interest so there will be a female division.
