After the success of recent Fighting Machines events, we are pleased to announce our first event in 2013, Fighting Machines 6, will be held on 23rd March at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan. The Robin Park, an 800+ seated venue with a tiered block on one side, may be familiar to boxing fans, with high profile British names such as John Murray, Jamie Moore and World Champion in waiting, St Helens Martin Murray having fought there on numerous occasions.

The venue has fantastic facilities including adequate parking, disabled access, bar facilities and walking distance to the local Retail Park.

The card for this event will feature a number of A class bouts and a quality B+C class undercard.

We are delighted to confirm our Main Event:

67kg A class Full Thai Rules

Brad Stanton (Kiatphontip, Leeds) vs Sam Omomogbie (Liam's Gym)

This is a fight that everyone one has been talking about and we are excited to be showcasing it on Fighting Machines. These two have been blasting their way through the 67kg division and both have a number of KO's on their records.

Brad claimed the Commonwealth title after stopping Jersey’s Michael Blood in the 1st round on the last Fighting Machines and then took a late place in a K1 tournament and had a great fight but was unsuccessful this time but is ready to fight again.
He has beaten other quality names such as Richmond Annan, Salah Abdulsalem and Nathan Epps, losing only to the latter two in very close contests. His record stands at 12 wins from 14 fights.

Sam is a force to be reckoned with and has an impressive CV with 10 victories from 13 fights, including wins over Sean Perry, Solomon Wickstead and Jonno Chipchase.
He too has just taken a late fight with a few days notice and defeated Michael Blood on his home show in Jersey . His trainer, European Champion Liam Robinson, stated ‘Sam would be even better if he actually trained for a fight’ Amazing!!
Both of these lads are strong, technical, aggressive fighters and this will be a real don't-blink affair!

And co-main event:

84kg 5x3 'oriental rules'

Joe Mcgovan (SDF, Sheffield) vs Lyndon Knowles (Minotaurs)

These two World champions will collide in what will surely be one of the fights of the year!
Hard-hitting Mcgovan will be looking to add another KO to his CV against the more experienced Knowles. Mcgovan won the WFKKO World title with a win over Marlon Hunt and has a professional record of 11 wins from 14 bouts with a KO average above 90%.
Knowles boasts a hugely impressive 32wins from his 40 fights, including a successful WRSA World Title win over Christian Di Paolo. He is a two-time World Champion with some huge scalps under his belt.
This fight has all the makings of a classic!

Our first supporting fight is an A class contest at 68kg max:

Josh Turbill (Spitfire, Heywood) vs Ste Long (Hanuman)

This fight will be explosive! Turbill made his return to the ring after a long layoff on Fighting Machines 5, stopping Scott Richards inside 3 rounds. Known for his devastating clinch work, Josh is a great technician and has beaten some of the country's top names, including Salah Abdulsalem, Sean Perry, Nathan Epps and Darren Till. His record stands at 16wins, 1 draw, 1 loss.
Long is also a bright prospect and has been making a name for himself with a number of impressive performances, most recently in a win against Mike Egan. He boasts a perfect record of 12 straight wins and is eager to pit himself against the big names at welterweight.
