From the posts he has made here and on other forums Mike seems like a nice bloke. In my opinion he should be working more in the gym with other fighters rather than competing. There are ways to be involved with MMA other than competing and I think he would be more suited to a non-competing role for his own safety and that of the promoters using him.

Having said that, quite a few people seem to be having a genuine dig at Mike without offering anything constructive. I understand that these comments are borne of concern but telling someone they are shit at something they are passionate about is a bit out of order.

Great post. I know he does what he does for his love of the sport, but if he really loved the sport he'd look at the potential he has to do a lot of damage to the sport's continually growing reputation. Most of us on here are pretty well educated as to what the sport involves and see Mike as having a considerable probability of being seriously hurt - if it was an untrained, uneducated Daily Mail journo watching the fight he'd probably consider the probability of injury being even greater. The last thing we need in MMA is somebody getting seriously injured and, if it happens, some promoter's going to have a lot of explaining to do if somebody researching the story comes to these forums or similar and sees that the potential was being talked about some time in advance. It's the referees I feel the most sorry for - it puts them in an untenable position as far as I'm concerned. I don't have anything malicious to say or any bad feelings towards Mike, but I think his passion for the sport could be displayed more appropriately through alternative involvement.
