This is a joke if you're walking in Johnny Hendricks shoes.
Diaz shouldn't even be fighting for the title coming off a loss and a suspension. I was more interested in seeing GSP vs Hendricks.

Diaz deserves it let him have his shot.
How does he deserve it? He lost to Condit.
Hendricks has smashed every top contender worthy of a title fight.
We all know who really won and lost that fight.
plus he was promised a shot
Yes we did, it shows on Condits record that he won, and it shows on Diaz's record that he lost. That's it.
Being promised counts for shit if you lose, there are a long list of fighters who have been promised title fights and never received them without having to put a winning streak/defining fight together.
The UFC has proven time again that if a fight is more profitable they'll go that route & as its a business I don't blame them. Ultimately Diaz/ GSP is a far bigger fight, pus its also about what Diaz has achieved through his career. He's got some big wins, a former Strike Force champion & this was a fight that was scheduled already.
Yeah Hendricks has looked good recently but he'll have to step aside, similar to how Chuck did so Tito could have his big money fight with Ken Shamrock.
I don't understand how it's a bigger fight, I don't see Diaz as a threat to GSP, GSP will grapple fuck him, it doesn't matter if it was scheduled, he lost to Condit and doesn't deserve it, past accomplishments shouldn't come in to it or Wanderlei and other pride heads would have walked straight into more title fights.
It seems now that the way to get a UFC title shot is to lose. Sonnen, Edgar, and now Diaz. It's ridiculous. the UFC wants to be seen as a legit sport and they are giving titles shots to guys coming off losses.
And Diaz didn't win the Condit fight.
You would make a better case for Edgar. I thought Edgar won both fights with Henderson. But I still think he needs to win a fight before he gets a title shot.

thats the issue, the ufc isn't a sport, the ufc is a company, and they'll always make decisions based on what's best (most profitable) for the company, not what's fairer for fighters/the sport. it's a really bizarre state of affairs that the sport is effectively controlled and manipulated by one company (basically the ufc and ufc alone).
we'll always see business focused deals above sport focused ones whilst this remains the case, i.e. until we have an official governing body for the sport....which we'll likely never ever have.
