    Default Free blood tests?

Is it not possible to get free blood tests/proof of being ok by having a blood donor card. From what I know if you are a blood donor you give blood it gets checked and it gets used to help someone. Thus by having a donor card, means your blood has been passed as ok? Or is it not that straight forward?

Think everyone thinks SAFEMMA is a good thing. All the arguments seem to be about cost and who pays. You can get free blood tests then? Why the cost through SAFEMMA then?

I would hazard a guess that if it goes thru safe mma's stringent testing then there is less of a chance of contamination or any foul play happening.plus there is a lot morbenefits than just having your blood tested

Not all GP practices are helpful & it may get awkward if you require a 'certificate' or dated & signed proof to give to a 3rd party, e.g. a fight promoter, that you are HIV & Hep clear (rather than a 6 year old Blood Donor card...).

For that they may charge, or refuse to do it on principle if it's to allow you to compete in a sport. This happened to a mate of mine (cough) at both GP and knob rot clinic.
