    Default Did someone say Mcblackbelt?

Look, winning medals at a competition that no one actually gives to two fucks about is about as relevant as being awarded your belt by paying an affiliation fee or paying an instructors living for a few months. David Clark and Ricky Gillon will be the next brown belt and black belt in Scotland, it makes me sick to my stomach to say that but I fear it's the fucking truth. That in itself is exactly what is wrong with BJJ in our Country, being a high grade in BJJ used to evoke fear not ridicule and mockery. Lagarto and Manga should be ashamed of themselves, diluting the art for a few extra pounds in their pocket. Greedy fucks.
Perhaps if Ricky would support some other Scottish tournaments rather than his hand picked tournaments (of which he blows the promoters), then his students would quickly learn that GB Glasgow is a long way from Glasgow's premier BJJ Academy. And is more like Glasgow's premier bull shit factory, with lies and phoney belts.
    Gross.

A lot of people get ripped on here for having belts other people feel they shouldn't have..... Was just wondering, why don't these people do the grappling comps and prove the doubters wrong?

    Amazing idea,
I would love to see David Clark, Ricky Gillon and Amro Boray step up to the plate and prove themselves. To be fair to Clark and Gillon at least they paid for theirs rather than just appearing with one.

David Clark has stepped up to the plate (and has won gold at purple in an event in Brazil), Amro has competed in no-gi and MMA in the past as well and both academies send lots of guys to both my events and Rob's. Bit unfair to be slagging these gyms for not competing.

As for the GB comment, one of my teammates has seen an email from Ricky ordering his guys not to compete at either Scottish Grappling events or Vision Grappling League events. Only to do Grab & Pull which from previous correspondence with Mr Gillon he claims to be involved with thanks to Lagarto. This may explain why they scheduled an event on the exact same day as one we had planned for months. Up until this point I'd had a good relationship with the guys there, but I wont help them again.

Your opinion means nothing mc bb as you are a nobody!! Tell people who you are and them some folk might take what your saying to heart but I do feel a bit bad that some bitter fucking idiot is going to serious lengths to tarnish the names of some high level black belts.

I recent the fact your even questioning the fact we have been promoted. We work our ass of. And are producing some very talented students.

Your the reason why this forum is ohhh so quiet!!!!! Causing negativity and bad
    Blood between everyone in Scotland.

People should continue to ignore and concentrate on themselves.

In terms of competition performance (off the top of my head as I dont have all our results to hand): -
    Andy Burns
    Allan Love
    Darren Clark
    Stephen Fitzgerald
    Jim Notini
    Dean Begg
    Stevie Ray
    Bart Rozmiarek
    Arizona Brodie
    Johnny Martin
    Dan Reid
    Joanne Calderwood

All compete on a regular basis (not just locally) and do consistantly well in their divisions. I'd also throw guys like Bryan Thompson from Rick Young's in their too although he's not competed as much recently.

Not feasible for us as we'd need to get all our staff Enhanced Disclosures, which we cant do as we dont have a governing body thats listed with Disclosure Scotland.

Although I don't agree with McBlackbelt at least it brings the forum to life....Personally..I hope Dave Clark gets promoted and I think he deserves it! He has put has arse on the line, his son's step and and have proven themselves and continue too, they go to great personal expense and effort to invest and bring people over to help them improve and they will support anyone's seminars, comps etc and don't give a fuck about the politics! From personal experience I know Davie has massive respect from people who have been involved in top level grappling for probably longer than anyone reading this...good luck to them! With Ricky..you need to give him the credit he deserves...his guys were excellent today and in the fights I seen with Griphouse guys today..his guys won including a 16 year old Blue belt winning against a Griphouse Blue belt..they are the biggest Bjj gym in Scotland and I wish him all the best! Meat..you are a good guy and do a lot for the game but the things you are saying about Grab and Pull (which I understand) are the same things your comps have been accused of for years! It would be great if you could all work together, then we would see who is the best and maybe get some Scots competing at the highest levels due to stronger domestic competition.
