If his coaches have looked at him and decided his ready to turn pro then they will know best.

There's been quite a few quality fighters turn pro before the age of 18. Over here there's the likes of Ryan Scope, Jordan Desbourough and Paddy Pimblett who turned pro young and did/are doing well.

Off the top of my head i'm sure Jordan Mein and Rory MacDonald turned pro when they were 16. Actually i think MacDonald had not long turned 16.

I'm not saying every 16/17 year old fighter should be looking to turn pro but there are some who are more than good enough and if they are good enough and want to fight pro and their team think they are ready then fair enough IMO.

Rory MacDonald was fighting pro when he was 15 I believe. Maybe 16. But definitly young.

Googled it to double check. He turned pro when he was 16 years and 3 month.

I bet he was pulling the bitches left right and centre in school.

Just to make sure the facts are out there - Coner did not pull out of the fight with a cauli ear. He had a really bad cauli ear that his team have been trying to deal with for a few days, which got progressively worse. Last night he had to go to hospital, and be put under for plastic surgery. Kid nearly lost the top half of his ear. Coner still wanted to fight, but there was no way his coaches, FCC, or the pre-fight medic, would let him. Hope he gets well soon, and we can see this fight on a future show.
