    Default 'Unlicensed'

The public must be getting the wrong impression when a boxing show is ‘unlicensed’. I know people who instantly think of some kind of bare knuckle, back street thing.
I have worked a lot doing BBU and IBA shows and found that they are totally professional and safe but are ‘unlicensed’ as the public would know.
It hardly seems right that ‘unlicensed’ actually means not licensed by the BBBoC as they are licensed by other boards and not necessarily an ‘underground’ thing.

Well people get the wrong impression about 'pro' MMA fighters when unskilled old midgets get their head smashed in but it never stopped you.

So you agree that its the wrong perception. I think. What could be done about it? Anybody anything constructive to say?

So the irony of you creating a bad impression of our beloved sport and then whinging about another sport is lost then.

Frankly I don't give a shite what people think of unlicensed boxing. And if you are associating yourself with them then that's just great.

The BBOC has a full licensing process , they check fighters , trainers , seconds, ref's and promoters out and everyone has to abide by the rules in place. The rule book is vast , you are advised to understand it before you go through the process of applying for a licence, you have to attend interviews and sometimes exams depending on what licence you want.
The BBOC will oversee every promotion that they are involved in, thats why they are a governing body and act in a professional way. Fighter matching , medicals, they make random checks on fighter progress including weights, the trainers keep a log on fighter gym times etc etc as it can all be called upon by the BBBC. Its a professional governing body.

If you are not licensed with the BBBC which is recognised world wide then you are not licensed, thats it. Everyone has the oppertunity to apply , why go unlicensed ? atleast you are not going to be mismatched, you know the medical checks are current, the medical staff on hand meet the requirement. You can turn up knowing at any Pro fight that the Promoter had to meet a requirement set by the BBBC for the show to go ahead.

Unlicensed is shit and potential dangerous , end of..

Is it fuck. You show your ignorance with this statement. I'm sure there is a few guys doing MMA who had an unlicensed boxing bout first but it is certainly not 'a lot'.
