what happens if a fighter wins but gets injured and cannot progress? is there a standby fight whereby the winner of that goes into the final?

like you say all he can be is prepared, alot of it is mental toughness aswell. It's a tough nights work and the champ (hopefully) will have deserved it in the end
If you didn't see it with your own eyes, or hear it with your own ears, don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your big mouth!

Pennington is massive for a BW but Haggestrom (like James said) is a real smart fighter and a format like this could suit him. Johns seems like a pressure fighter so likely if you cant put him away early then he will zap quite a bit of energy of you making the road to the final harder. If Pennington does win then I think it would be by beating McDonough then a tired Haggestrom
I stand by what I said before now that the draw has been made

No, injured fighters will be pushed out via the time tested method of 'prodding them with a stick'

Seriously though there will be an alternate bout

bret to win this tourni by dominating every minute of every round! hes technicaly a nightmare for all 3 guys and hes super fit! - cant see this going any other way than a world title coming back to the chris rees academy

Brett is the dark horse, but in fairness I dont think I have ever been so intrigued by a little tourney. Pretty sure whoever wins this will end up in the ufc.
