Does anyone (apart from idiots who never train but are trying to impress people) ever use the term 'cage fighter' or 'cage fighting' in a positive way?
I started thinking about this the other day when I read yet another report along the lines of 'Cage fighter beats wife half to death!' in the media. Then my friend Shay Walsh ended up in the news for something he did (you may have seen the thread about it here: http://www.cagewarriors.com/forums/s...highlight=shay) and suddenly he's a 'martial arts expert.'
Why wasn't this reported as 'cage fighter stops crazy man?' I'm pretty sure that if said crazy man had previously trained MMA for at least half a session he would have been reported as a 'crazed cage fighter.'
Personally I hate the term cage fighter, but I'm just wondering whether there any examples of it being used in a positive way? Or is it just a media tool?
