Default Overeem vs Mir UFC 167!!

UFC definitely want to get rid of Mir.

HOWEVER, this is a fight that Mir can definitely win!!

    •Rashad Evans vs. Chael Sonnen
    •Rory MacDonald vs. Robbie Lawler
    •Alistair Overeem vs. Frank Mir
    •Josh Koscheck vs. Tyron Woodley

Great card. Do you think the loser of this will get cut or is the HW still to shallow to get rid of a big name.

wicked card, though it's a waste of Chael Sonnen.

Mir or Overeem, no idea. wildly unpredictable fight.

Mir can sub, Overeem can sub (although highly doubt he'll sub Frank), Mir has potential to KO you, Overeem can KO you, Mir can get KO'd, Overeem can obviously get KO'd....

    Which way to go...

Think it's a bit of a big named gimme fight for Overeem.

Mir has ok kick boxing but Overeem is on a different level. Reem will clip Mir early then Mir will back peddle until cornered against fence and stopped.

Mir has the better ground game but hasn't got the wrestling to get it there.

Reem TKO round 1/ early round 2.

Yeah I gotta agree with the above, Mir getting ko'd! He won't get the fight go the floor, and though his boxing is pretty decent nowadays he's massively outgunned in the feet. Overeem is not that technical but he only needs to touch Mir on the chin and he'll fck him up in the clinch. I like frank, think he'll get cut after this loss

    check out Mir's record, interesting:

losing to dos santos, dan cormier and barnett is no disgrace but his glory days seem to have past him by.

I think Franks problem in recent years is that the HWs are now far more athletic than they used to be, and bigger. If anything he's a far better fighter than when he was UFC champion, his boxing has improved 10 fold. I werent many HWs a few years back that could have done what Barnett, carwin and lesner did. I think he's a great fighter but without top notch wrestling I think he's to small against new breed of HW. I'm not even interested in this fight, it'll only end one way imo. As someone said earlier in the thread, this is a gimme fight for Overeem

Personally i think after this fight Mir will see out his career as a gate keeper beating lesser opposition before a HOF induction.
