Been cancelled for a few weeks now, no-one entered before the deadline. TBH it's getting more and more difficult to put events on, there are no longer any suitable venues in Glasgow with the Kelvin Hall shutting and Meadowbank is a lot of hassle for us to run since we are all based in Glasgow, especially given the comps their aren't the busiest.

It's going to be shut for at least 2 years, during which time they are totally revamping it (it was badly needing it tbh). Problem is I doubt it will have the equipment we need to run a tournament as all the mates etc got moved to the Emirates, and BJJ is too small a sport to have there (exact quote from when we enquired)

Granite City Grappling are hosting a no-gi submission grappling tournament at Banks o' Dee Sports Centre in Aberdeen on Saturday, November 2. Sign-ups will take place on the day. The competition will start at 1pm. Weigh-ins will take place in the morning, with the start time for that to be confirmed. Weight classes and rules will be as standard in most Scottish competitions, but full details will be posted in due course. Just put the date in your diaries for now.

Aberdeen is a trek for most people I would imagine, hopefully it's busy but I don't know.

Last year's comp was well attended, so fingers crossed. Plus, there's a fair few clubs in the North-east and most of the comps that run are a trek for us lot to get to! Nice to have it up here for a change.
