He is a boring fighter and this is one thing that is an issue for Dana. I think he is definately a top ten WW but he's not going to beat the guys at the top of the tree. For me Id be happy for them not to sign him as I've no interest in watching his fights

Yeah I don't really care either way I won't tune into his fights either.

It'd be funny if he goes on a mad 4-5 run streak of knocking people out

It is quite sad that his style will cause him problems getting a contract with the UFC or whoever, because it is at the end of the day a fight using multiple styles and even if his is piss boring I'd still want to see someone actually stop him - because whoever pulls it off, well fair play to them, if no-one can, fair play to Askren.

Tricky in so much as even the most ardent MMA fan can be turned off by a Fitch lay n pray style fight when watching it (unless you do masturbate solely to lay n pray porn) but...if you are winning, you are winning regardless. I think I'd rather see Askren grind someone into the ground than say GSP because its more annoying with GSP because he has got so many more tools but these days plays it safe... Askren is a one trick pony and very good at it, so can't blame him for using it..maybe can't blame GSP either but GSP has shown more tools and now gives the impression of being gun shy whereas Askren doesnt.

Really? I don't understand that at all? What GSP does at the elite level (considering he doesn't even have a wrestling back ground) is impressive to me and I'll watch it. It's the guys he does it against that makes it watchable.

I've watched so many mma fights now that I can't be arsed to watch a mid level wrestler just smother some one. I realise that's harsh on the fighter involved but I'm just being honest and I'm guessing the market reflects this.

I've got to agree with that, I just struggle to watch the likes of Lentz, Fitch, askren, they bore the shit out of me. Admire then but can't get excited about any of their fights. It's very likely I'll have a smoke during the kos vs woodley fight tonight for the exact same reason.
I don't find gsp an exciting fighter these days, but I'll always watch him as he is such a great fighter who can do anything! He was one of my favourite fighters before the Serra loss, before he changed his style. It is safety first nowadays, but this is why he is 7odd years unbeaten. He'll win comfortably tonight and I'll personally still be cheering him on

Now... GSP's fight against JH...thats what I expect from him!!!

Askren... one trick pony but great at it, let him do the boring lay n pray. GSP is a far better fighter than recent fights (excluding this weekend) have shown.

There are many good fights for him. He can't seem to finish opponents but he's an amazing wrestler and I'd be fascinated to see how the great and the good of the big show handle him.
