It's funny how Anderson silva & chuck Liddell were well beat in pride and then shogun & gomi were when they come to America!! It was definitely more exciting when we had 2 big promotions competing for fighters.

To me it was always about the fighting. That's the problem now it is too much of a sport, hence the boring points decisions. Being dominated by better athletes, not necessarily better fighters.

I would love to see modern day Vale Tudo matches, with head butts, no gloves, etc.
It can't be bargained with! It can't be reasoned with! It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

Hardly well beaten.
Taking this shit, one day at a time.

Any others I have missed? Interested in seeing if you think they were better or worse in UFC vs Pride?
Was it step up in competition, age, rule set? PEDs? matchmaking?

Time, PEDS, time, wear and tear, time and PEDS mostly. With some spurious matchmaking thrown in as seasoning.
Sig awaiting witty quote from someone.
