Well he has been saying since the fight was announced what was going to happen and he was spot on again! Entys talked some crazy shit on here so I don't think it's anyway undignified, it's come back and bit him on the arse. Being humble is always the best way to be in any combat sport unless you're the man sat on the top table! I find him entertaining but it's no suprise that a few on here were having a chuckle at the end of the fight

Enty does talk shit and deserves some stick based on his performance but remember he's in there and has been given that opportunity. The thing with his performance he was so desperate for that leg that he look lost. If he was a complete fighter he would have done something else. He's no Palhares. Cant see him last long in the UFC.

Until he gets a win it means nothing to people and he'll be judged on his antics before he got a chance and what he does with that chance, so I'd have to agree, it's kind of back fired a little......up till his next fight at least

I see what you mean, but it's quite possibly his antics that got him the shot. I'm not a huge fan of how he promotes himself but he's got himself an opportunity most dont as a result. In terms of people judging him, I think that is really confined to this board and not the wider ufc audience hence he kind of has a clean slate. And if this hooker really is a beast as has been suggested (don't personally know enough to judge) then to lose to such a talent doesn't, or shouldn't, immediately make him a failure or unable to back up what he's said.

Perhaps he may be out of his depth, but he's given himself a chance either way by doing what he's done. So the only thing that could bite him on the arse is not making the most of the opportunity. If he's beaten by better fighters so be it.

Love him or hate him Enty generates the hype and makes people want to watch his fights whether to see him win or lose. And fair play to him on getting himself into the UFC, he said he was going to do it and it’s exactly what he’s done. You have to respect the guy for that.

In terms of his fight I felt like once the heel hook didn’t work he froze up and began to wilt quickly. Dan Hooker knew exactly what to expect, he was cool and calm and defended the heel hook expertly. Once he was safe, he rained those elbows down like a savage.

I’ve seen on social media Enty feels the stoppage was early but I have to disagree, I felt the stoppage was more than fair.

Enty seems to have painted a picture of himself as a leg lock specialist. His fighting style is even listed as ‘leg jitsu’. Kenny and Goldie talked very highly of his leg lock ability during his walk-in too. However in all his 8 pro wins only 2 have come via heel hook. Granted they were against good opponents and came very quickly but it just strikes me as a bit odd why he’d want to paint this picture of himself, when it gives any opponent a clear game plan of what to expect and work on avoiding.

I suppose there is a certain draw to fighters that are leg lock specialists, and maybe he’s trying to capitalize on this. Who doesn’t get excited at the potential of a Palhares or Imanari fight? But with these two fighters Palhares had 4 leg lock submissions in his first 8 pro wins and Imanari had 5. AFAIK they didn’t paint themselves as leg lock specialists either. This was decided by fans and commentators in lieu of the way they won their fights.

I think if Enty is to be successful in the UFC he needs to focus on becoming a more complete fighter. He’d crafted an image of being the next Palhares or Imanari and came unstuck in his very first fight in the big leagues when his strategy didn’t work. If he doesn’t adjust I can’t help but feel he’ll come unstuck again. Hooker salted the wound by saying the heel hook wasn’t even tight in his post fight interview. There are some absolute killers in the FW division who are more than capable of nullifying a leg savvy submission game, I hope Enty uses this loss as a lesson in evolution and comes back as a more rounded fighter. I think he has the talent and the team around him to do it, I guess the rest is all down to him.

I dont disagree, and though he has talked alot of shit to a few on here pretty much everyone has backed him and wished him luck; he's another british fighter getting to do it on the big show. What I meant by bite him on the arse is that he's talked himself up, bad mouthed a few fighters on here and got beat very quickly. No ones saying he's a failure but at this point he hasn't backed up what he was saying on here. I hope he gets another shot and of course wish him well in his next fight

I wished him well. He did what he felt he needed to in order to get the fights he wanted on the way up. He's always been entertaining because he's caused a stir, slagged people off (myself included), and bad mouthed people. That likely helped in his quest for a UFC fight, even if it was maybe a bit premature. The UFC was his dream and I'd never begrudge anyone for achieving what they'd sacrificed so much for. Fair play.

However, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. You can't make your name in the way he did and then not expect a comeuppance when you get a beating on the world's biggest stage. Of course some of the people he's burned on the way will delight in seeing that because he made a lot of personal remarks and enemies. He's there though, and you can't take that away from him.
