Default McGeary And Vassell In Action At Bellator 122 This Weekend

    Author: @YourMMA July-24-14

British light-heavyweights Liam McGeary and Linton Vassell return to the Bellator cage in California this weekend. Good luck Guys.

    News
"UK light-heavyweights Liam McGeary and Linton Vassell are both undefeated thus far under the Bellator banner, and they return to the fray tomorrow night in California at Bellator 122.

McGeary (7-0) is in the semi-finals of the light-heavyweight tournament, where he takes on the experienced Egidijus Valavicius (27-10).

McGeary's tear has seen him win four straight under the Bellator banner, with three knockouts, including the dramatic finish of previously undefeated Mike Mucitelli last time out. He has finished all seven of his career victories inside the distance.

Valavicius is his toughest test to date, with almost forty professional fights and fifteen knockouts on his slate. He was impressive back here in Europe, before heading to the States to carve out a career there, much the same as his upcoming adversary.

With both men dangerous strikers and proven finishes, it should prove to be an exciting main card encounter.
Vassell (13-3) meets Virgil Zwicker (12-3) on the undercard, and is aiming for his third consecutive Bellator victory.

"The Swarm" acclimatised with a decision win over Matt Jones in his first outing, and really came to life in submitting Trevor Carlson back in March for his eleventh stoppage win. He spoke to Your MMA Radio about the upcoming fight, and you can listen to that HERE.

Team Quest trained Zwicker is coming in off back-to-back knockout wins, including one over Mike Hayes in KSW and Nick Moghaddam at Bellator 99. He has been stopped just once in fifteen fights, and will be a big test for the Milton Keynes man Vassell.

Both men are ultimately aiming for the Bellator gold at 205lbs, and are now swimming with the bigger fish in the division. How they fare will show just where they stand in the division moving forward."
Y'all keep safe & be lucky.

    Gerry.
