Default The Bear trains with The Machine

Ian 'The Machine' Freeman has been helping M1 Heavyweight Rob Broughton in his preperation for his upcoming bout against Jessie Gibbs in Kansas next week. Ian has been a great help both technically and in support of the whole of Team England.

Rob training with Ian can only go on to help improve his already decent game. Having spoke to Rob after the session he had nothing but good things to say about what he had learnt and i am looking forward to seeing it in action next week when we return to the Memorial Hall.

If you had to fight to the death tomorrow would you change the way you train today?

What camera did you use for that one?

Canon 1000D with a 1.8 50mm prime lens, the zoom was my legs on that day. I have some more of Rob and Ian going through ground and pound stuff, i'll dig them out and put a couple up.

i've never seen his opponent. Does anybody have any educated impressions about him? If Rob wins this - what is next in the pipeline? Would that be down to M-1, or is there a specific opponent in sight?

Jesse Gibbs has a good record, some good wins and is strong, imposing and can mix it standing and on the floor (His losses show the level he has mixed wth in the past)

After his fight this coming Friday, Rob Broughton then faces Akhmed Sultanov of the Russian Legion in the M-1 Challenge Semi Finals. Then will probably have another fight in November/December (or possibly both months)

where is Rob on a day to day basis still with Cahoon etc? Always thought those two made a decent pairing both with concrete heads

I believe he considers his 'home' to be Atherton Wrestling, under Darren Morris. He does get around a bit though!
