2012 tournament to crown CWFC Women’s champion

17/12/2011

A CAGE WARRIORS 125lbs Women’s champion will be crowned in 2012 with the organisation set to stage a four-fighter tournament.

The first of two semi-finals will take place at Cage Warriors Fight Night 5 in Amman, Jordan in April, while Cage Warriors 47 in Dublin, Ireland in May will play host to the second semi-final bout.

The new champion will be determined at Fight Night 6 in Istanbul, Turkey when the winners of both semi-finals will square off.

Three of the four participants have already been confirmed, but the fourth and final spot remains up for grabs.

“There are some awesome female fighters out there at that weight and we’ve got a beautiful new belt looking for a home in 2012,” said Cage Warriors matchmaker Ian Dean.

Already included in the tournament are former Cage Warriors 132lbs title holder Rosi Sexton (12-2-0), 23-year-old Dublin native Aisling Daly (13-2-0) and German rising star Sheila Gaff (9-4-1).

Sexton will face Daly in Dublin, while Gaff will take on the fourth participant in Amman.
