OFFICIALS have confirmed the first batch of fights for Cage Warriors 57, which is set for Liverpool’s iconic Echo Arena on Saturday, 20 July, 2013.

Liverpudlian trio Danny Roberts (pictured), Lee Chadwick and Chris Fishgold will all feature on the event’s main card, while two very attractive bouts have also been confirmed for the prelims.

Danny Roberts (8-1), a top-10 UK welterweight, will be aiming for his fourth consecutive CWFC victory when he takes on Mauro Chimento (15-10).

Brazilian 31-year-old Chimento comes into the bout on the back of a Submission of the Night victory over Domingos Mestre at CWFC Fight Night 8 last month, while Roberts had an impressive TKO win against Diego Gonzalez at Cage Warriors 54 a week earlier.

Elsewhere, Lee Chadwick (16-10-1) will take on 29-year-old Swedish middleweight Mats Nilsson (10-2-1), with Chadwick searching for his sixth win on the trot.

Chadwick, 28, holds notable wins over Denniston Sutherland, Valentino Petrescu and CWFC welterweight champion Cathal Pendred, but Nilsson will be keen to secure a third Cage Warriors triumph to add to the scalps of Tommy Speer and Chris Scott.

Also on the main card, rising featherweight star Chris Fishgold (8-0) will put his unbeaten record on the line when he collides with Marcin Wrzosek (6-1).

Fishgold, who turned 21 last week, impressed with a first-round submission of Steve O’Keeffe at Cage Warriors 52 in his promotional debut, but 25-year-old Polish prospect Wrzosek will be eager to impress in his first CWFC outing.

Meanwhile, the Facebook prelims will see unbeaten Norwegian welterweight Mohsen Bahari (5-0) return from an injury lay-off to take on Manchester’s Matt Inman (10-5), while Bolton native Saul Rogers (6-1) will make his CWFC debut against Welshman Lew Long (7-2) in what’s set to be an exciting lightweight tussle.

“We promised to bring fans something special for the Liverpool card and I think the announcement of these first five fights shows that we’ll be delivering on that,” said Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan.

“When you see the calibre of the two prelims you get an idea of how strong this card is going to be. Watch this space because there’s even better to come.”
