Warrior Promotions are sad to announce that December’s Cage Warriors event in Nottingham has been cancelled due to a clash of dates. Warrior Promotions were due to promote the next instalment of their successful “Enter The Rough House” at the Harvey Hadden Centre in Nottingham on December 6th.

This event was due to be an end-of-year special with several Title bouts planned alongside the usual mix of up-and-coming British and European talent. This date was booked earlier this year however since then Warrior Promotions have learned that the Nottingham based Super Middleweight Boxing sensation Carl Froch has been booked to fight for the prestigious World Boxing Council Title on that same date.

Froch will be fighting the unbeaten Canadian Jean Pascal at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena, which will also be shown live on ITV 1. As a result, the Warrior Promotions Management team decided it would not be a logical move to promote a Cage Warriors show on that day.

The Warrior Promotions team have spent the last few weeks searching for a suitable replacement venue, but due to insufficient time and the sheer number of other functions taking place that month, it was impossible to find a suitable time or venue for such as established MMA event as Cage Warriors. So the an executive decision was taken and it was decided that the next Cage Warriors show will now take place early next year instead.

This delay will give Warrior Promotions more time to concentrate on their blooming Fighter Management business and other plans such as a suitable TV deal which will benefit themselves, fighters and fans alike. It is also hoped that this time will be used to fine tune the “British Warriors” team, which will take part I the 2009 season of the global M-1 Challenge next year. And finally this time will also be used to improve the Cage Warriors brand, so that 2009 will see even bigger Cage Warriors events .

Already Warrior Promotions are making plans to increase their presence overseas in new territories as well as continuing the work already made in Florida by their sister Promotion Cage Warriors USA, who have already booked four shows in 2009 at the vast UCF Arena in Florida.

The Warrior Promotions team would like to apologise to anyone effected by this announcement, but after a very successful 2008, which has seen Warrior Promotions/Cage Warriors put on some fantastic fights such as Paul Daley/Bojan Kosednar, Dan Hardy/Chad Reiner, Andre Winner/Bendy Casimir and a full M-1 Challenge show. It was decided that they did not want to end the year by putting a show on at a sub-standard venue.

However with business still booming in other areas we can assure our loyal fan base that we will not be resting on our laurels as we continue to push more UK fighters onto big shows around the world, and increase our links with organisations as the UFC, M-1, Affliction, Cage Force and many more.
