Cage Warriors USA & RFC fighter, Yosmany Cabezas (7-1) has signed a 4 fight deal with the exciting new tournament based promotion ‘Bellator Fighting Championship’

Cabezas first fight takes place this Friday (17 April 2009) at the Lloyd Noble Center, University of Oklahoma, and will be broadcast at 9pm on ESPN Deportes the following evening (Saturday 18 April 2009).

In round one of the tournament he will face one of Mexico’s most popular fighters, Edwin Aguilar (20-11), who trains with Melchor Menor and world renowned Team Quest. With over 15 years experience as a fighter, Aguilar’s fight pedigree includes honors such as IKF Muay Thai World Champion, Mexican Sanshuo National Champion, Pan-American Sub Champion, Mexican Vale Tudo Champion and North American Muay Thai Champion.

However none of Aguilar’s achievements or the fact he has 4 times more cage experience, appears to faze the relaxed, Florida Middleweight Champion and Elite XC veteran, Yosmany Cabezas, who trains at The Spartan Gym in Tampa, FL under head trainer William Banks - Cabezas said “I have approached this fight like I have all my previous fights. I’m training hard and I feel mentally & physically ready for this fight. I look forward to becoming the Bellator Middleweight Champion”.

Tommy Gleeson said “While working with Bellator Fighting Championships to secure Cage Warriors & Cage Warriors USA fighters on their cards, they mentioned needing a middleweight fighter to step up and take on Aguilar in round one of the tournament. I instantly thought of Yosmany - over the past few years he has impressed me, Joe Valdez at RFC and many others here in Florida. We are all confident in his ability and excited to see him take on Aguilar Friday night.”

Everyone at Cage Warriors USA and RFC wishes Yosmany the best this weekend. For more details of this fight and others on the fight card visit
