Warrior Promotions are delighted to announce that Cage Warriors Featherweight World Champion Danny Batten (12-4-3) returns to Japan this Friday (27th April) to face the Featherweight King of Pancrase Yoshiro Maeda (20-4-1) in a Non Title Match in the main event of the PANCRASE 2007 RISING TOUR show at the famous Korakuen Hall in Toyko, Japan.

Batten is widely regarded as the UK’s number 1 Featherweight and is ranked number 1 in Europe by the German website. Batten is also the current Cage Warriors World Featherweight Champion and is unbeaten in his last 7 bouts. Batten is coming off a close decision victory over Kyotaro Nakao at Angrrr Management in March and has also defeated the likes of K-1 veteran Damacio Page and Shooto Japan veteran Augusto Frota and Tom Niinimaki.

Batten is also famous for ending the unbeaten streak of the French BJJ star Emmanuel Fernandez at Cage Warriors Strike Force 1 where he won the CW belt.

This fight has been confirmed in part due to Warrior Promotions working in conjunction with an agent who was looking for a fighter for the April 27th show and after discussions with Batten’s team, Warrior Promotions were able to put the Milton Keynes based fighter forward for the fight and he was duly accepted by the Pancrase booking committee this weekend. Warrior Promotions would like to thank Tiago Okamura, Chris Cleere and Danny for their assistance in this issue and we look forward to him representing the UK, this coming Friday.

Batten is the second fighter Warrior Promotions have been able to match-up in Japan and will be the 2nd fighter who will main event a Japanese show as well.

Good luck Danny !
