Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy Wins At UFC 95 As UK Fighters Impress
Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy extended his win streak again at UFC 95 when he defeated Rory Markham at the O2 Arena in London. Hardy; who is managed by Warrior Promotions Fighter Management (WPFM) made it two straight wins in his UFC career as he knocked out his American opponent in just 69 seconds in front of 13,268 fans.
After impressing on his UFC debut against Akihiro Gono in October 2008; Hardy found himself in a war of words before his fight with the former IFL star, as Markham mocked Hardy’s punching power in the MMA media. However the rising young UK star wasted no time in issuing several responses in the UK media, before letting his fists do the talking inside the Octagon, as he landed a perfect counter punch to the temple which left the Miletich trained fighter prone on the canvas and the referee stepped in to stop more damage as Hardy prepared to land a ground assault.
This win was made all the more special as it was shown live in the UK on Setanta Sports and featured in the main card of the Spike TV telecast in the USA. Also Hardy was helped by the overwhelming support that Hardy got for the UK fans that mobbed him over the UFC weekend and cheered for him during their bout wearing the now infamous Outlaw Bandanna from Piranha Water who sponsor the UK Welterweight star.
“The Outlaw” has also been in demand by the media both before and after the fight and featured on last week’s “Ultimate Talk” show on Setanta Sports before flying back to the USA.
UK fans were also boosted by the fine performances of both Terry Etim and Paul Kelly, who both won on the undercard defeating Brian Cobb and Troy Mandaloniz respectively.
