Foster set for London arrival
HAVING been added to the card for Cage Warriors 44 earlier this week, former UFC welterweight Brian Foster will arrive in London this weekend to step up preparations for his clash with Jack ‘The Stone’ Mason at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town on October 1.
Foster (15-5-0) is eager to return to the cage after what’s been a difficult year so far. The 27-year-old from Oklahoma has yet to fight in 2011 after being diagnosed with a brain haemorrhage prior to his scheduled meeting with Sean Pierson at UFC 129 in April.
However, the Hit Squad fighter, who has a 3-2 UFC record, has now received medical clearance to resume his professional career and 29-year-old Chelmsford native Mason will provide the first hurdle on a possible journey back to the UFC.
Foster, whose most recent outing culminated in a second round submission win over Matt Brown at UFC 123 last November, touches down at Heathrow airport on Sunday morning and will train at the MMA Clinic in Angel over the next fortnight to tune up for his bout with Mason (17-8-0).
Foster v Mason will co-headline Cage Warriors 44 at the HMV Forum in London on October 1, along with the CWFC lightweight title bout between Joseph Duffy and Ivan Musardo. Get your tickets HERE.
