The Cage Warriors Fighting Championship are pleased to announce the signing of the highly regarded English Middleweight Jack “The Stone” Mason (17-8) to an exclusive multi fight deal.

A near six year veteran of the UK MMA scene; Mason has plied his trade almost exclusively in the South East of England, on such events as Cage Rage, UCMMA and CFC.  Currently ranked 11th in the YourMMA.tv British Middleweight rankings, Mason rebounded well from a tough start to his MMA career and has since impressed against a variety of opponents on the domestic circuit

Training alongside the likes of Robbie Olivier, John Maguire and others at Team Tsunami, the Essex native has developed solid all-round skills throughout his career which has seen earn 11 wins by submission, whilst he has also engaged in stand-up battles under MMA rules and in Kickboxing bouts (most notably against Alex Reid). With only two of his 25 pro bouts going the distance, the experienced Englishman has a reputation for being a crowd pleasing and popular fighter who likes to leave it all in the cage whenever he fights.

Known for his desire to keep busy, Mason has already fought five times this year and made his Cage Warriors debut back in April when he defeated the number 1 Scottish Middleweight Allan Love by unanimous decision in the Main Event of Cage Warriors 41 in London, which was shown live on Television and streamed on the internet around the world.

Whilst in the lead-up to his second CWFC bout against the Ultimate Fighter and Bellator veteran Norman Paraisy at Cage Warriors 43 in July, the 28 year old found himself featured on numerous UK websites and was also profiled on MMAJunkie.com and Yahoo Sports in the United States. Although on that occasion Mason was defeated in the third round by the European top 10 ranked fighter, he still remains a force on the domestic scene and quickly got back to winning ways earlier this month with a first round TKO over the Spaniard Miguel Bernard at UCMMA.

Mason is now preparing for the first fight of his Cage Warriors deal, which takes place on October 1st in London against the number 1 ranked Irish Middleweight and Cage Contender Champion Chris “The Killing” Fields (8-3-0).

When asked about signing for the rapidly expending UK based promotion; Mason said “I am very excited to have signed with the Cage Warriors Fighting Championships. I think Cage Warriors do an excellent job, put on a great show, look after their fighter’s very well and the fight cards are top to bottom quality. Along with excellent match making CWFC bring superb international live TV and internet coverage for a fighter and the opportunity to fight abroad and increase a fighter’s international profile.”

Mason continued by saying “I am looking forward to the challenges ahead with Cage Warriors as I know I’ll be in for some stern tests as their match making is nothing but fair and even. I’ve had 25 professional MMA fights now, got a solid record and I feel like I need to be beating these top guys in Europe now if I’m going to progress my career and really move forward. With Cage Warriors I know that I will get that opportunity and appreciate that’s what they bring to the table.”

Mason then closed by saying “I’ve fought some very tough guys in my career to-date, the likes of Hathaway, Wier, Sutherland and Paraisy and feel like I’ve under performed in these pivotal fights which potentially could have pushed me forward exponentially. I’ve made some changes to the way I train and recently taken some necessary steps with my team and coaches to rectify this (such as fighting less regularly) and the Cage Warriors fans are going to see a much improved and aggressive Jack Mason over the next year. I feel like I am now ready to go ahead and take what I’ve been training so hard for. I’m really looking forward to the future and putting on some great performances for CWFC.”

Whilst the CWFC Matchmaker Ian Dean was quoted as saying “I’m very pleased we have been able to sign Jack Mason to an exclusive CWFC deal.  We are working hard on securing top UK and European talent throughout the main weight categories and with the Middleweight division looking increasingly stacked, I can see some awesome match-ups ahead for Jack, who will be looking to work his way through the field for a shot at our prestigious Title.
