Jean N’Doye, Dan Hope And John Michael Sheil Win Awards At CWFC Fight Night 1
Without a doubt Cage Warriors Fight Night 1 was a very special event, as for the first time a UK based MMA promotion travelled to the Middle East to put on an event which was shown LIVE around the world via the internet and Television. This stacked show featured an array of international talent, who between them produced six intriguing bouts which saw four exciting TKO’s and several memorable individual performances.
As the evening ended the Cage Warriors Director Graham Boylan issued bonuses for the evening’s most stand-out performances.
This saw both Jean N’Doye and Dan Hope being awarded ‘Fight of the Night’ for their epic Lightweight battle, which stole the show at the sold out Le Royal Hotel in Amman, Jordan. Throughout the contest, N’Doye lit-up the CWFC cage with a sublime display of striking, as he cut through Hope’s defences with a constant barrage of lightning fast punches which included multiple stunning uppercuts.
N’Doye eventually brought the fight to an end in round 3 when his relentless pressure forced referee Marc Goddard to stop proceedings with just over a minute left in the fight. Soon after the bout the CWFC Director Graham Boylan showed his admiration for both men via his personal Twitter account as he said “Can’t put into words, what it felt like watching this fight live at cageside”.
Whilst Boylan also singled out Dan Hope for praise due to the courage the Englishman showed under fire by saying “never seen such a Warrior fight live in front of my eyes, Dan Hope I salute you brother”
Whilst a ‘Knockout of the Night’ bonus was given to the Irishman John Michael Sheil who sealed a come-from-behind victory over the talented Swedish Middleweight Victor Cheng in round three of their bout. Sheil survived a bright start from the Gladius MMA fighter, who used his superior wrestling skills to good effect in the opening rounds. However Cheng started round 3 looking visibly fatigued and Sheil was able to close the distance early on and land a bodyshot which was soon followed by a series of uppercuts which ended the fight is spectacular fashion and earned the Irishman the ‘Knockout of the Night’ award.
The Cage Warriors team would like to congratulate all three fighters on their performances and we hope to see them back inside the CWFC soon.
