Merv Mulholland To Make His CWFC Debut Against Amir Gerandokov On September 8th In Amman, Jordan

The promising Northern Irish fighter Mervyn “The Mad Man” Mulholland (8-4-0) will make his Cage Warriors debut on September 8th at The New Boxing Arena, in King Hussein Youth City, Amman, Jordan.

He will drop down a weight class to take on the Jordanian based Russian Amir “Legionnaire” Gerandokov (2-1-0) in a professional Lightweight bout that is due to be shown live online around the world via

Mulholland signed an exclusive multi fight deal with the UK based promotion back in June and was expected to feature as a Welterweight, however following discussions with his team the exciting 20 year old prospect has decided to drop down to Lightweight and take their chances in the stacked 155 lbs division following his loss against Steven Ray at On Top 2 in June.

Despite his age, Mulholland is already an experienced and seasoned competitor having amassed a solid 5-1-0 Amateur/Semi Pro record on local shows before turning pro in August 2009.  Since then he has active on the UK and Irish circuit and has captured the ISKA Irish Welterweight Title, Chaos FC Welterweight Title and the 10th Legion British Welterweight Title.

Whilst Amir Gerandokov also makes his CWFC debut at ‘Fight Night 2’ and will be support by his students at the Jordan Kickboxing Academy, which supplied several fighters on the undercard of the inaugural CWFC Fight Night card in Jordan back in June.

Currently based in Amman, the 25 year old Russian is a veteran of the M-1 Ukraine Selection series and brings a dangerous Combat Sambo fight style to the cage, which has seen him walk away with 2 submission wins so far in his career.  Eager to test his skills in this competitive environment, Gerandokov leapt at the opportunity to be a part of this exclusive event.

Despite going into the bout with a slight height and weight disadvantage Gerandokov will no doubt look to test Mulholland, who travels outside of the British Isles for the first time in his career to begin his Cage Warriors deal at Lightweight.

More news on this event will follow in the coming days as the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship return to the Middle East with another stacked show on September 8th.
