Paul Daley Returns At Enter The Rough House 7
Paul Daley has again shocked the MMA world by announcing that his first fight, following his surprise retirement earlier in the year, is to be at the latest Rough House event, staged by Cage Warriors.
Daley announced earlier in 2008 that he would be retiring after winning the KOTR Kickboxing Title in his native Nottingham back in February. His announcement, which was made first on the Cage Warriors forums started a whirlwind of speculation and caused a huge amount of debate on MMA news sites and blogs, as MMA insiders and fans alike were shocked by the young UK star’s decision to quit whilst he was seemingly in his prime.
Daley has remained tight lipped about his situation and has let speculation run wild over the last few months. However news broke yesterday that Daley would be making his return to action on July 12th at Cage Warriors: Enter The Rough House 7.
Andy Lillis of Cage Warriors said ‘Paul came to the April show in Nottingham and obviously he was there to support his fellow team mates but after a 3 year absence from the CWFC Cage perhaps he decided here and now was the right place for him to make his comeback. Frankly I was as surprised as I am delighted by his decision’.
The FX3 Welterweight World Champion., two time Elite XC veteran & current Cage Rage Champion is one of the MMA scene’s biggest rising stars and has fought and trained around the world with multiple appearances in top US events as well as having fought in Japan in the Pancrase organisation. A teammate of Cage Warriors’ regulars such as Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy, Jim Wallhead and Andre Winner; Daley is known for his explosive fighting style which has seen him rack up 12 wins by TKO and claim Titles in both MMA and Kickboxing bouts.
Daley has defeated a “who’s who” of the European Welterweight scene with wins over the likes of Mark Weir, Sol Gilbert, Ross Mason, Daniel Weichel, Peter Angerer, Jess Liaudin and many more. However Daley has also been successful across the pond which has seen him gain TKO wins over UFC veterans Duane Ludwig and Sammy Morgan in Elite XC events plus wins over US fighters Dave Strasser and Blake Fredrickson in other shows.
His opponent for this fight is as yet to be announced and commenting on this, Ian Dean, Cage Warriors Matchmaker said ‘we have a number of top names lined up for this fight and we hope to announce this very early on next week along with other great matches for the card, in the meantime I would get your tickets as soon as you can as this news has already had a big impact on our sales’
