Paul McVeigh vs. Chris David To Headline The Inaugural Eurofight Xtreme Event This Weekend
The number 1 ranked European Bantamweight fighter and current Cage Warriors World Bantamweight Champion Paul “Metabolic” McVeigh (15-5-0), faces the toughest test of his career this weekend when he takes on the former Elite XC veteran Chris “Dark Lotus” David (12-7-2).
McVeigh (Who is managed by Warrior Promotions Fighter Management) has been one of the UK’s top pound-for-pound fighters for many years and has fought across three different weight categories since making his debut in 2002. A veteran of Cage Warriors, Cage Rage, Extreme Brawl and the Japanese Cage Force promotion, McVeigh not only has an impressive record, but has also faced top European based opposition and has claimed several Titles in the process.
With 6 wins out of his last 7 bouts since 2007, with his only loss during this time coming against the former Shooto World Champion Masahiro Oishi last year; McVeigh is inching his way towards the big time. In recent bouts McVeigh has defeated two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belts in the form of Anderson Pereira and Marcelo Costa, and has also recorded impressive stoppage wins over the highly rated Irish pairing of Steve McCombe and Neil Serry.
With his European based opposition now virtually conquered, the dynamic Dinky Ninja Fight Team member is looking to break into the US market and the Eurofight Xtreme promotional team have called-up the eccentric Californian Chris “Dark Lotus” David to challenge the home town star.
David has previously found success on the US indie circuit before graduating to such events as EliteXC, King of the Cage and Gladiator Challenge. Sporting an impressive 12-7-2 record with 9 wins coming inside the distance, Chris David is not to be underestimated and is infamous for his Youtube videos that have seen him call out several top Bantamweights as well as p4p Boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. Already Chris David has talked-up his bout with McVeigh on his Youtube channel which can be seen here. Whilst you can see Mcveigh’s reply here.
This is without doubt the biggest Bantamweight bout held in Europe and takes place on a card that is stacked with some of the best European fighters from the lower weight categories.
