Paul ‘Metabolic’ McVeigh To Headline Absolute Combat On Saturday Night In Scotland

The Warrior Promotions managed fighter Paul “Metabolic” McVeigh (14-5-0) headlines Scotland’s biggest Mixed Martial Arts event to-date tomorrow night at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh

McVeigh will be facing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt; Marcelo Costa (4-1-0) at the inaugural Absolute Combat show which features a total of 14 MMA bouts featuring some of the best Scottish based MMA talent. Costa (4-1-0) made his name last year when he defeated the Swedish Bantamweight star and TV personality Musse Hasselvall at Superior Challenge 2 and will be looking to claim his second big scalp inside a year in Scotland next month.

However McVeigh is no stranger to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu standout having defeated Anderson Pereira at Cage Warriors: Enter The Rough House 4 in October 2007 and with other wins against the tough Irishman Steve McCombe, Neil McLeod (Twice), Neil Seery and Phil Harris; McVeigh has shown why he is rated as European’s number 1 Bantamweight fighter.

McVeigh is also the current Cage Warriors Bantamweight World Champion and with 6 wins out of his last 7 bouts; the Cage Force Japan veteran is hoping this will be the fight that catapults him into one of the World’s elite events.

This event also sees a top European Featherweight clash between Paul Reed and Frederic Fernandez, whilst in the Welterweight division, Paul Jenkins takes on local up-and-comer John Quinn. The full card is below, along with ticket and other event details.
