Warrior Promotions Fighter Managment Sign The Sinclair Brothers
Warrior Promotions Fighter Management (WPFM) one of the leading UK based Mixed Martial Arts promotional companies are proud to announce two more top UK signings to their already impressive management stable, as contracts were exchanged earlier this week between WPFM and the Sinclair brothers.
Hailing from Burnley in the North West of England, both Rob and Mick Sinclair have been battling it out against some of the UK’s top names in the Lightweight division since entering the UK MMA scene in 2005.
The Sinclair’s started their fight careers under the tutorage of UFC Middleweight fighter Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping in Clitheroe, where they cut their teeth in the semi pro ranks in the now defunct Cage Warriors: Quest feeder show. However they soon moved on to the pro ranks and switched camps to Predators MMA (when Bisping’s own training regime left them without a full time coach). Whilst most recently they also started training at Team Kaobon (home to UFC Lightweight star Terry Etim). Whilst both Rob and Mick also work on their own side project; the Sinclair MMA Academy, in Morecambe.
Since 2006 both Rob and Mick Sinclair have established themselves as two of the UK’s top unsigned Lightweights by learning their trade before taking on tough opposition on some of the countries top events. (Such at Cage Warriors, Ultimate Force and of course most recently Cage Gladiators)
Rob Sinclair is the elder of the two brothers at 29 years old and since making his professional debut in 2006, he has amassed an impressive 7-1-0 professional record, with wins over the former top 10 European Lightweight Aidan Marron, the current Ultimate Challenge Lightweight Champion, Tim Radcliffe and the current Cage Warriors World Lightweight Champion, Alexandre Izidro amongst others. His power, relentless ground and pound and growing all round skills saw him pick-up the Cage Gladiators Lightweight Title last year when he avenged his brother’s loss via TKO against Aiden Marron inside two rounds.
Mick Sinclair is 27 years old and also has a solid professional record of 7-2-0 since making his professional debut at Cage Warriors: Strike Force 6 in May 2006. He then based himself predominately at Ultimate Force and Cage Gladiators where he defeated the Cage Rage veteran Ashleigh Grimshaw, the former Ultimate Force Champion Ian Jones and the Cage Warriors USA veteran Jason Ball. Like his brother, Mick Sinclair is known for his all round skills and has been in exciting contests against the likes of Jones and Ball whilst also showing he can stop people both standing and on the mat.
Without a doubt both Rob and Mick are two of the brightest unsigned stars in the UK MMA scene and WPFM are excited to be able to work with the Sinclair’s as they look to continue the fine start they have had so far in their careers. Whilst WPFM will look to engage their vast network (both domestically and internationally) to increase both Rob and Mick’s profile and get them the opportunities and fights they deserve.
WPFM hope to see both fighters in action soon, although Mick Sinclair has a previous agreement with a promotion next month at Lightweight, he will be looking to drop a division to make 145lbs/65.8kg, whilst his brother will continue his dominance in the UK Lightweight division and make his mark aboard as WPFM start to formulate long term goals for both men.
When asked by MMA Unlimited for his views on the signing, Tony McDonagh, Director of Warrior Promotions, was quoted as saying “These are two guys that deserve to fight in big organisations and that’s what we aim to do. We currently have a few guys who have ‘moved on’ from the domestic circuit (TUF’s Winner and Pearson) so there’s a gap domestically for us to build fighters.”.
McDonagh then added “There’s no point us taking on loads of guys. We want to work intelligently and these guys are perfect as we’ve just had two lightweights move onto bigger things and Rob and Mick are the some of the best in UK MMA to fill this void.”
The Sinclair brothers now join the likes of UFC stars Dan Hardy, Ross Pearson and Andre Winner on the WPFM roster. A roster that also consists of Team England who are representing the country in the 2009 M-1 Challenge, the former BodogFight, Elite XC and Bellator FC veteran Rosi Sexton and many more top up-and-coming domestic talent.
