The weigh-ins for a disrupted Cage Warriors 61 card took place this afternoon in Amman, Jordan.

Heavy fog at Heathrow Airport in London yesterday wreaked havoc with the travel schedules of several fighters and subsequently forced the cancellation of two bouts.

Mohsen Bahari and Hakon Foss, who were due to catch connecting flights having flown from Oslo, were unable to depart from London in sufficient time so their respective welterweight bouts against Mukhamed Berkhamov and Matt Inman were forced off the bill.

Cage Warriors officials then sought to re-match Berkhamov and Inman in a 170lbs bout against each other, but that proposal was turned down by Berkhamov, who became the third potential opponent for Inman to fall through this week following Bruno Carvalho’s injury withdrawal on Monday.

Inman had only arrived in Amman at 6am this morning having also been subject to severe flight delays, but the Englishman stepped on the scales this afternoon nevertheless and made weight at 169.8lbs.

Cage Warriors 61 will go ahead tomorrow night at the King Hussein Boxing Arena as a reduced eight-bout professional card, which will be headlined by a crucial bantamweight contest between Marat Pekov and James Brum, neither of whom had any issues making weight today.

All other fighters also weighed in under the limit at the first attempt, with the exception of James Hurrell, who needed an additional half-hour to make the 206lbs limit, and Romanian flyweight Paul Marin, who endured a gruelling flight schedule in order to make it to Amman.

Travelling from his base in Barcelona, Marin missed his scheduled connection in London and instead made his way to Amman on an overnight flight that involved a lengthy stopover in Cairo.

Marin landed in the Jordanian capital less than an hour before the weigh-ins were due to begin and used the additional two-hour buffer to cut to as low as 126.8lbs, but in spite of the 0.8lb of excess weight, no purse deduction will occur as a result of the several travel disruption.
