Warrior Promotions Fighter Management (WPFM) are pleased to announced they have three fighters in the ninth season of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show.

From it’s humble beginning in 2005 the UFC’s “The Ultimate Fighter” (Commonly known as TUF) has helped to revolutionise the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in the United States, as it was partly responsible for not only helping MMA reach a mainstream audience, but has also helped such fighters as Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans and the UK’s own Michael Bisping to achieve fame and celebrity.

Now with MMA more popular than ever before in the UK, thanks it part to the UFC holding eight action packed events in the last two years around the UK and Ireland. Due to the success of these shows the UFC decided to base an entire season of TUF to a stand-off between UK and the USA. As this season will see 4 Welterweights and 4 Lightweight from Team UK face their Team USA counterparts in Las Vegas with the two finalists meeting live on June 20th at the “The Pearl at the Palms” resort in Las Vegas, Nedava.

This concept has enabled some of the UK’s finest up-and-coming fighters to stake their claim for a place on the show, which will hopefully propel them to superstardom. Warrior Promotions Fighter Management took the most of this opportunity and sent a group of fighters to the UK trials last October, whilst also sending in applications from fighters who could not make it. These fighters impressed enough during the initial trials to earn themsleves numerous call backs and eventually the WPFM fighters were offered a place on the popular Reality TV series. The WPFM representatives that made it to the show are Martin Stapleton, Andre Winner and Ross Pearson who are all in the Lightweight division.

Already the WPFM fighters have had some success as all three fighters won their eliminator bouts which was held on episode one of this season’s show. These bouts took place at the Wolfslair Academy and saw 16 UK fighters looking to earn their place to fight Team USA in Las Vegas. All three of the WPFM fighters impressed in their eliminators as Andre Winner and Ross Pearson won their bouts by TKO. Whilst Martin Stapleton made his way to Las Vegas after a submission win in his eliminator bout.

You can follow the exploits of the WPFM fighters in the UFC The Ultimate Fighter reality show every Wednesday on Spike TV (In United States). Whilst UK fans can catch this exciting series by tuning into Virgin 1 every Sunday night at 11pm or catch the reply on Setanta Sports every Wednesday Evening at 10pm.
